The appendix is on the right lower area of your abdomen. When you lay down flat, trace an imaginary line between the navel and the bone you feel on your right hip and it is approximately in the middle point of that line (that's called the McBurney's point).

Your right side.
If you think you are having an appendicitis here is what to look for. Have a friend or parent press on your right side GENTLY with the pull of their hand. When they lift off and it hurts worse then when they pressed down, that is one of the signs.
Here is the symptoms as described in The Merck Manual of Medical Information, Home Edition.
Less than half of the people with appendicitis have the combination of characteristic sysmptoms: Neasea, vomiting and excruciating pain in the lower right abdomen. Pain may begin suddenly in the uppper abdomen or around the navel; then nausea and vomiting develop. After a few hours, the neasea passes and the pain shifts to the right lower portion of the abdomen. When the doctor presses on this area, ti's tender and when the pressure is released, the pain may increase sharply--a symptom called recound tenderness. A fever of 100 to 101 is common.
Pain, particularly in infacts and childen, may be general rather than confined to the right lower portion of the abdomen. In older people and in pregnant women, the pain is usually less severe, and the area is less tender.
If the appendix is ruptured, pain and fever may become severe. Worsening infection can lead to shock.
If you are having these or some of these symptoms tell your parent if you are under 18, if 18 or older take yourself or have a friend take you to the ER.
WHY? Becuase too many people think it's nothing, sit at home hoping it will go away and they end up with a ruptured Appendix and can die; if they do live they'll be hospitalized with a massive infection for weeks.

You could look for it on your left side, but, it is on the right side near where the large and small intestines meet.
