when people say U.F.O everyone usually thinks aliens, little green men etc.
the term U.F.O means unidentified flying object, and there is plenty of military hardware flying about that we don't recognise, that's why we have test pilots for. so YES i do believe in U.F.O'S

currently there is _no_ scientific evidence for UFO's being little green men (pick your color). are there UFO's? sure unidentified flying object. anything i can not identify is a UFO by definition. does this mean it's form space? nope. so far all that has been shown is: hoaxes, missadvntures with cameras (you DO know how to take the lens cap off, right? i kid you not!) and total bull and hysteria. in fact all the science we have so far (what we KNOW and not GUESS or THEORIES and can't prove one way or the other) is that even if there are aliens unless there from Right here in the solar system AND are MANY years a head of us in scientific capabilities, your not going to see them. want to spend a thousand years getting to another planet? how about when you get back that planet has experienced a million years in your absence? etc etc, the energy requirments and the simple logistics are simply out of reach as we know it now. does this mean it is impossible? no. does it mean it's likely? no.
extraordinary claims take extraordinary proof, this is simple concept. if i say i walked to work you would take it at face value. it COULD be false or COULD be true. but it's a rather ordinary claim so takes only my ordinary proof to make it acceptable.
claiming that little aliens from soem far reaching part of the galaxy has managed to discover amazng technology travel this far is investigating us without our knowledge AND they chose only our planet out of the literally TRILLIONS available? hmmm you have a tiny glowing spec on a grainy video made by an amatuer that i can easilly fake with simply making my camera go out of focus and train it up into the sky in a field of fireflys? yah not enough proof.

There are many things we see in the sky and until it is explained to us then its a UFO. I once saw something which I couldn't identify but it turned out to be a hot air balloon. It was weird in the dark though!
I'm not sure I believe in Alien Craft but I'm open minded on that as I spent 15 years married to an airman and I've heard of some pretty odd sightings that have never been explained. I would only believe if I saw it myself.
You saw something so it wasn't your imagination. As your dad couldn't explain it either it was probably easier for him to just say that.

what some people call U.F.O. (unidentified flying object) is directly link to their knowledge (or lack of) of terrestrial aircraft, weather balloons, astropheric conditions, celestrial bodies (evening star 'Venus'), etc etc.
in north carolina there is at least 3 air force bases
1/ Seymour Johnson air force base
2/ Pope air force base
3/ Air Force Combat Climatology Center (this base collects weather infomation for the defense forces)
and Charleston air force base in South Carolina not to mention neighbouring states, airlines etc etc
the reason i mention these bases is to establish the air activity in that area.
at the age of 12 most of us would not have a satisfactory knowledge of aircrafts.
as for hovering well .... weather balloons, silent running heliocopter such as the 'Apache', VTOL (vertical takeoff or landing) aircraft eg. the 'Harrier'
here is two reasons of many why ufos still persist.
1/ the air force hiding there experimental aircraft under the guise of ufo's
2/ there is big money to be made from doping the public into believing in ufo's from book sales, conventions. most of these so called experts made a good living from doing the rounds and selling their books. the programs on tv can be taking with a pinch of salt as they are only for entertaining value.
the fact is if E.T. landed outside the white house tomorrow all of them 'experts' would be out of a job.
to have an active imagination is a marvelous gift however don't jump to conclusions always applied logic first.

Many kinds of atmospheric phenomena involving mainly static electricity account for most UFO observations. But there remains unexplained observations like radar observations by the Belgian army. I am not a believer; I either know or don't know. In this case, I don't know.

Whitley Schrieber wrote a book of his experience with the ufo's called, 'Communion'. there's also a movie called 'Communion' starring Christopher Walken.
>i have had 1 sighting in my life. i was waiting outside 1 of my friends apartment building when happened to look up and i saw this spinning disc like thing soaring over the parking light. this was no plane. and it was no halucination.

sure I believe in UFOs, do you think that out of this huge universe we are the only intelligent life? what a waste of space that would be. If they are an older race of beings they would have thought of ways to overcome the difficulties of space travel like we will one day (if we don't kill ourselves first).

no you ingnorant little girl.... ufos dont exist. listen to your father.... i think hes right.
well miss tee.... i figured that only a child would ask such a silly question or fall for something so ridiculous. and like i said.... ufos dont exist and neither to aliens on mars. my older sis likes to watch this show called the X files and although she liked it.... she didnt BELIEVE in it.
i used to believe in vampires when i was like 10 but gave up my belief in them when i was 13. im 16 now and i feel quite silly for thinking it. you wont believe the things i did to try to avoid something that didnt even exist. atleast i grew out of it.
