what does it mean to be alive?

ha cus like my science teacher wants us to answer this question but he confused me saying that there is no right answer or something and like i believe that the meaning of life is like way so different for each and everyone and that the real meaning of life is just to like it or something like that cus its not the same for everyone and yeah there is no right answer but i also dont want to fail this class so can like someone help me out here? please?:]

to me, to be alive is to strive for something, to do something. because that is why you live on earth, not just eating and wasting your money.

alive also means to be animate, to move,eat, respond to stimuli,to breathe,reproduce and to give off wastes.

To be "physically" alive means that your heart is pumping blood throughout your system of arteries, veins, and smaller blood transport systems, such as capillaries, until the blood reaches your heart, travels through your lungs picking up oxygen, and starting the entire process again. To be "spiritually" alive indicates that you have a realization that there is a higher source of power than yourself, that is not in physical form, and that you are not completely alone, but always have the spirit of that higher power within you. While many people believe in the Spirit of God, there are other beliefs which believe in other spirits which affect your life continuously. To be "alive" in general can be taken many ways. That you feel alive may mean that you feel happy and content with the life you are living. Death, of course, is the opposite of life, and you can have physical death as well as spiritual death. You can be spiritually dead and still be physically alive.

Not dead. Alive though is only a matter of perception. If no one was around to wittness you as living, then are you alive or really even there? Kinda like a fart. If there is no one there to smell the fart, then is it really there? It could be that you are the only living being. You are really a test subject of God. He is trying to decide if creating human life is worth His effort. All these perceived people around you are really God's evaluating team. They are not real. Only you are! So score well, I want to be born into the world as REAL living human being.

I believe that when we live, we are dead----when we die, we live. If you can understand that philosophy. My belief in this stems from the fact that my relatives contact me in little ways from the other side, most of them are dead. If they can make some contact then there must be some form of life after death. I truly believe that death will be better than life because of several reasons. To be alive, is to be born, to die is to be reborn. I think so.

For something to be alive it requires energy. It is an energy consumer. Yes, living things consume energy. Without an input of energy, they do not live. Plants often use sunlight. Animals often consume other animals or plants. Yes, energy consumer. Something that requires energy in order to exist. But wait, what other things require energy to exist but are not alive?
