Well known in England -
King Henry I (1068-1135) was very fond of lampreys (a long fish like an eel) which were considered a delicacy in those times. He is reported to have died of a "surfeit of lampreys".

Good old Henry VIII. He had a major appetite. He waist measured
54 inches at the time of his death. To get on his horse he had to use a lift. He almost didn't fit in his own coffin.
