I was told that 1 in 10 pregnancies wont make it to full term?? Is that true, and if so that is an alarming rate, now I am so scared that mine wont make it, do you believe this statistic or is it wrong?

it's true but not in the way that you think
the farther into the pregnancy you get the less your chance of a miscarriage
most miscarriages occur during the first month or two
that's where your statistic comes from
but most women see it as just being late
not to say that when you're late you've miscarried
but it is a possibility

Miscarriage in early pregnancy is very common. Studies show that about 10 to 20 percent of women who know they are pregnant have a miscarriage some time before 20 weeks of pregnancy; 80 percent of these occur in the first 12 weeks. But the actual rate of miscarriage is even higher since many women have very early miscarriages without ever realizing that they are pregnant. One study that followed women's hormone levels every day in order to detect very early pregnancy found a total pregnancy loss rate of 31 percent.

I read somewhere that it's mostly because most women don't know they are pregnant. I have included a link on the topic.

Not to freak you out but I've also heard of higher statistics than that.. 1 in 6 is what I've heard and there's a 50% chance of miscarriage in the first trimester. But see, these are only statistics. Yours may or may not miscarry. Just take care of yourself and relax. One of my cousins had her husband do all the laundry and cleaning because she was told that those chemicals are bad for the baby. Just take it easy and I'm sure it'll be fine and if not, there's always other chances. Good luck.

when i had my miscarriage i was told 1 in 4, and that was my fourth pregnancy, I have gone on to have two more healthy babies. I always thought it couldn't happen to me, but it did, and I survived, although i will always wonder what i did wrong. The only advice i can give is that if u feel something is not right, see a doctor or midwife, if only to give yourself peace of mind.

Unfortunately it is true! I know quite a few women who have had miscarriages including myself. Try not to worry about it. Stress is not good for you or the baby!! Congrats on the pregnancy!!

That's what I've heard. Having been through one, it wasn't fun but I did get PG again 3 mos after and he is now 10. I would just relax and take care of yourself. No drinking/smoking, heavy lifting, toxic cleaning or anything like that. Don't be afraid, just enjoy the life inside of you. God bless!
