NEW YORK (AP) - Civil rights activist Al Sharpton said Monday he is seriously considering a run for president. "I don't hear any reason not to," Sharpton, 52, said in an interview during an urban affairs conference sponsored by another civil rights leader, the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

As the newly self-appointed President of Black America (having succeeded the former self-appointed President, Jesse Jackson) it only stands to reason that the great man should run for the real presidency.

Absolutley not. He's not only too far to the left for me, he's too far to the left for mainstream Democrats. Anybody who speaks at demonstrations sponsored by those commies of International ANSWER(which he did in 2004), is too far to the left for America. Besides that, since he claims to be a "Reverend" he shouldn't be allowed to run. It's that whole separation of church and state issue.

Absolutely not...he is way to extreme far left in my opinion and with him everything is a race related issue---even when race should have no bearing on the issue.

The guy may be very well intentioned, but I think he would be waisting a whole lot of money in his effort. I see no chance of him even coming close to capturing his parties nomination to represent them.

I can't support his candidacy, but giving credit where credit is due, he was the only candidate in the last presidential election who you could count on to tell it like it was. You got straight talk from Big Al.
