I think my dog may have overheard me threatening to murder the cat- he won't eat. When I give him food, he looks at me like "no thank you, crazy lady.." and goes off to prowl elsewhere. I think he's afraid I'm going to poison him.

Start gnawing on the cat just to sort of show him what's expected. He'll feel better when he sees that he's got a job to do.
