horseback riding might not be a good idea, but bike riding - on a street or path (not down a mountain or off-road) would be fine. The embryo implants, but if you do too strenuous activity, you can definitely miscarry. It doesn't necessarily have to be "bumpy" activity. If you are pregnant, just try to not over-exert yourself.

I do believe it implants very strongly and bumpy activities aren't an issue in and of themselves. I think doctors recommend avoiding such activities more because of the risk of falling and becoming injured due to the fall. The risk becomes greater later in pregnancy. But of course, I'm no expert and the doctor's advice is what is most important.

Only VERY 'bumpy' activities (mostly due to the chance of bodily injury or hemorrage), other medical pregnancy related issues notwithstanding, would be relevant. The very nature of the implantation and the uterine wall itsself(very 'elastic' and flexible) protects the embryo from become 'shaken' free. Again, pertinent medical conditions not considered here.

Miscarriages can really happen at any time and bumpy rides can make that happen soon and any other time as well as it might not happen at all. It'a a risk that you are taking and you live with the decisions that you make. That is the way life is. Every pregnancy and person is different.

if you are not having a high risk preg. horseback riding is ok but what you have to remember is even the best horseman can get bucked off, take it from me, I love my horse and as gental as he is, one day he got the bit over his tounge and started bucking and off i went, caught me totaly by surprise and if that happens you could very well loose the baby, belive me you hit hard!
as for bike riding, ask your doctor. ask him on both while your there.

yes it's not good during your first trimester. you should avoid long bumpy trips even on a car, let alone horse back riding...
