15 is not so great. 15 is a shame. they say you shouldn't over 35 because of higher risk of birth defects. even though we have come a long way socially as women and human beings, our biological makeup is still the same.
women are made to have babies in their 20s and early 30s. not saying it's wrong to do it any other time, but our bodies will produce the best offspring in those years.

40 year old women have a higher risk to give birth to a baby with Down Syndrome than a 15 year old.
It's a personal decision.
Edit: You assumed that everyone thinks it's okay for a young teen girl to get pregnant. They don't think it's "great." It's something called being supportive. Have you ever heard of that? Oh sorry, I forgot that you haven't. Just because all people don't call a pregnant girl a whore, tell her to get an abortion, or tell her that her life is ruined does NOT mean they approve. A lot of the people that sympathize with the young pregnant teens have been there in one way or another. These are people that know what common courtesy is.

I personally don't think it is OK for a 15 year old to have a baby. You are to young and not mature enough. I would like to know how you can support a child and go to school. I think that is just ridiculous. Now for a 40 year old is just as bad. This person can not have the quality of life for a young child. My husband and his mother were in a different generation. There are to many problem with an older parent

Nobody said it was great, in fact when I was 16 I got a girl pregnant. It was tough, I went to school then went to work and had no time for anything. But the way I see it is that now I will be able to keep up with my children better. I won't be too tired, or have health problems and just be able to bond better and play better with my children, plus it will help me relate to them as they become teens cause it will only be about a decade since I was a teen.
But nothing is wrong with getting pregnant at 40. Its a personal choice and you shouldn't care what other people think as long as you are happy.

woman over a certain age have a higher chance of giving birth to babies with down syndrome for example.
i wouldn't say it is ok for a 15 year to get pregnant because she is still a child and does not have the maturity nor life experience that a 40 year woman have. at 15 she should be enjoying life, having fun and planning what she wants to do in the future

I have never heard anyone say that it is ok to be 15 and pregnant.
The reason why people say things about 40 year old women having children is because the risk of having a child that has physical or mental defects is greatly increased the older the woman is when giving birth.

Staying Pregnant
Once pregnant, there are some hurdles for the older mom. For younger women, the chance of miscarriage is about 15 percent. In other words, one in eight pregnancies ends in miscarriage. At 35 the rate rises to one in four, and at 40 the miscarriage rate is almost one in three. This is mostly due to chromosomal problems of the embryo. Currently, there isn't a treatment that prevents these losses. Still, the odds are in your favor that the pregnancy will progress normally once you have conceived.
Chromosomal Problems
I have found that many people overestimate the risk of Down Syndrome and other hazards to the baby from advanced maternal age. There is a lot of publicity about the chance of Down Syndrome after the age of thirty-five, as if that were a major turning point for risk. Actually, the risk rises slowly with age, so that at 35, the chance of Down Syndrome is slightly less than 0.5 percent. That means that over 99 percent of fetuses carried by women this age will not have Down Syndrome. The risk rises to about 3 percent by age 45. That is still 97 percent without Downs.
Discuss with your partner what you would do if testing showed a chromosomal problem. There are numerous testing options available to you, depending on your risks and your values. In the US, all women who will be 35 by delivery are offered genetic counseling and genetic testing.
Other risks to the baby
For pregnancies that are chromosomally normal, the risk of birth defects is not significantly increased. Although there may be some increase in premature birth and low birthweight, most babies born to older mothers are healthy.
Little medical risk to healthy moms
For a healthy older woman who becomes pregnant, the medical risks are minimal. She may be at some increased risk of gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and cesarean section, but she is certainly not taking her life in her hands by choosing to carry a child. Some of the concerns about the mother's health with later childbearing are related to conditions that are more common as we age, particularly diabetes and hypertension. If a woman has these conditions before pregnancy, there are risks for her as well as for the baby.
It is important to find out how your medical situation impacts a pregnancy and how the pregnancy will affect your health. All women planning pregnancy should have a pre-conception consultation with their doctor or nurse-midwife. This is particularly important for older women, and for women with known medical problems.

There are risks associated with having a child at an older age, both for the child and mother. On the other hand, I have never heard anyone condone a 15 year old having a child. As far as health risks go, this may just be more "safe" -- as for as socially and culturally, this most likely is not true.

Say that you are sorry in regards to the obstacle. In case your daughter and her daughter have been shut, try to keep involved. Losing a guardian is rough. You frequently don't know what the loved ones went through or what they're about to move by means of. Dad may just flip out or is non-existent and grandparents or spouse and children may have got to take over. They'll must uproot. Who is aware of? Attempt to check the quandary and see if you can help.

I don't think anyone feels like a young teenager getting pregnant is GREAT. I think the only reason people are down on women having babies after age 35 is because the risks of birth defects go up sooo greatly. I think the only reason people support a teen mom is because they are going to have it tough enough. Why tell them something they already know. EVERY teen mom knows she was stupid and made a mistake. (Well at least all the ones I met, including myself.)
