Oh, Christine......Dubious Christine.....
I am a 50 year-old gay man.
I have three beautiful daughters....two adopted and the oldest from a previous marriage.
I have a wonderful life....a partner of 17 years and a beautiful home in So. Cal.
Why would I feel bad?
I'm the luckiest homo on the planet!

Never! My three grown children and eight grandchildren are my blessings and my soul. My family has never been judgmental of anyone. Of course there is one exception: People who read a paragraph then tell everyone they've read the whole book. I'll bet there are quite a few parents who regret having the children they were stuck with. A parents smile can conceal all sorts of disappointments they must tolerate from their kids. Many straight couples who shouldn't have procreated have been known to be more than a little abusive towards their offspring. So lets face facts, what goes on in the bedroom does not decide what kind of a parent you will be. So if you want to know about feeling bad about parenthood, lets not insinuate that gays shouldn't raise children, the sick abusive ones should garner your attention regardless of their orientation sexually.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of kids. Maybe one day. I suppose I could adopt or something if I really was feeling a lot of generative pressure and got it into my head that I'd make a fantastic parent.
I don't know if I'd ever be comfortable *bringing* another child into this world, though. There are many others in my family who have already spread our genes around, and anyway, isn't the planet under enough strain from the human mass? It's kind of like renting out rooms in a burning building.
Because having progeny of my own is not a priority for me, I don't feel any particular sense of loss surrounding the issue. Right now, I would be content to have a nice dog and fulfill my duties as the world's most awesome homo uncle.
But I am aware that raising families is a major priority for many gay and lesbian couples, and I oppose any legislative effort that might obstruct them.

I do not think I will ever feel that way. I could have a child and raise a family if I choose. At this time of my life I would like to find a date before I worry about marriage and children :). However when it comes to feeling bad; I do empathize with gay couples who try to adopt but have problems due to their sexuality.

Yes. It can be difficult. I'm only 20, and when I see parents with their babies, it's hard to accept that I will never have my own children. I have pondered the possibility of adopting a child when I am little bit older and ready to make the commitment that comes with raising a child and giving them a loving and caring home.

Have you been in a cave? Lots of lesbians are raising babies that one of the couple bore by artificial insemination, and there are gay males who have adopted.
And news flash: I'm straight, never bore a child (although I did raise a stepchild from age 12--her dad had custody), and don't regret that decision one bit.

I am gay and I have two beautiful and understanding, loving daughters. So no, I dont feel bad at all. I feel bad for your parents that they didnt raise a more tolerant child.

I agree that maximum X-ians are illiberal bigots. the element right this is that folk breed who do not elect infants nor understand the thank you to love and rear them. baby shielding amenities have stats that would make you cry. X-ians can undertake those undesirable infants with the aid of the handfuls. Do they? No. i don't think of abortion would want for use as a sort of beginning administration. women people who've abortions are doing it interior the main suitable interest of the fetus that's undesirable. would desire to gay couples have the means to undertake in the event that they elect? sure. better to be reared with the aid of somebody who loves and cares for you than somebody who does not. against Abortion?
