No, dear. Drinking water at the beginning of your period will help the bloated feeling from water retention pass faster, but that's about all it will do. Except make you want to go to the bathroom all the time, and keep the kidneys in good order. Your period normally will last from 3-7 days, varying slightly from month to month from your particular normal pattern. It is not unheard of for a period to occasionally be lighter or even heavier than usual- it's all controled by hormones produced by the body and sometimes affected by your health and stress levels. It is not affected by the amount of water you drink or don't drink. Sorry, but if you noticed anything it was all just coincidence and wishful thinking.

I doubt that there's any conclusive scientific proof that water can make periods shorter simply because it's something too subjective to measure. However, drinking lots of water before and during your period is very good. It causes the blood lining that has built up in your womb to be much smoother and as such, the tissues tear away much easily and causes a lot less pain to you.
Hope this helps...

I am on BC, and since this causes my periods to be significantly lighter, I do find that drinking a good amount of water does help it go by faster, I couldn't explain why. But it works for me.

water will make you not feel as bloated cause your body wont hold on to the water as much but it doesnt make your period end sooner

Of course water doesnt make your period end faster, that's a myth if I have ever heard of one...water does make you healthier along with keeping you hydrated.

No.
Drinking water has no effect on your period whatsoever other than making you retain it and add weight plus make you feel bloated.

I'm 48.....and I've NEVER heard this one. However, if it's true.....I can guarantee women will certainly cause a shortage for bottled water!!! Can't hurt...cause water is good for you for many other reasons, too!
