I tried my best to understand his stand ups, to comprehend how they could remotely cause laughter and I failed. He just describes and usually questions mundane day to day things in a casual manner. Upart from the feeling 'yep thats true' I cannot see any other possible reaction that could arise from the viewer.

Why do people laugh? What are they laughing about? There isn't marvellously witty in what he says, no twists that usually charcterise humour

It's not that he's not funny, he is brilliantly funny. Its just that some people's idea of comedy is shows such as "South Park" or "The Simpsons", both perfect examples of how to spend 1/2 an hour in excruciating paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiin!!!!

Seinfeld has the uncanny ability of extracting just the right information from a seemingly mundane situation than getting the audience to hear it from a different perspective (in an exaggerated situation) to its original and thus twisting the original course of action into an intellectually humorous gig. No matter that his humour is based on mundane day to day things. The important thing is that watching his comedy you realise how obviously idiotic, banal, irritating things that we all do and say (in general) are and we never really notice. Of course it is screamingly funny!!! If you have the slightest ability to relax you'll soon see it...........lol.........:)

When the canned laughter kicks in, the audience feels obliged to think it's funny.

I'm sure plenty of people do not find him funny. But enough people do find him funny, that's why he is a millionaire.

Ahem... he is Jewish, that should pretty much explained on why he's a well known 'comedian'.

Think 'Krusty the Clown', the unfunny clown.
