From Homer's Odyssey, what is a divine intervention?

Something surreal, something not human coming in and affecting the situation, whether it's GOOD divine intervention or bad. Like the sea god causing that storm (if I'm remembering it correctly...) that was divine intervention.

Divine intervention is when my sister was about to stick a butter knife into the toaster, something tapped her hard on the shoulder. There was no one there. But she would have gotten electricuted and didn't.
Divine intervention is when I'm doing 70 behind an ambulance in the left lane and the car in front of the ambulance (which I can't see) stops dead, and I miss hitting the amb, by an inch without a seatbelt. That is divine intervention.

Divine intervention is when the gods/goddess step in to help someone in a time of need. An example that is pretty everyday would be when your house is on fire and it suddenly starts to rain, saving your stuff. That could be construed as divine intervention, I suppose.

Watch the movie "Pulp Fiction". There is a good example of divine intervention in it. Plus, it's an awesome movie!

it is when you have a problem and there is no way you can solve it yourself then God does it for you, or say you were going down a street and you were heading for a wreck headon and there was not a way to avoid it but at the last second a hand came down and removed the car that is divine intervention

Any time a Greek God shows up and changes things to help mortals, it's called Divine Intervention.
So if Apollo interferes with a battle, then that's Divine intevention.

Divine intervention is when God takes a direct hand in matters mortal. He doesn't send Angels or emissaries, but takes care of matters Himself.
