Don't borrow trouble, Mom. Be calm. If you're a little overdue, you're a little overdue. They may have to do a C section, though.

Not to scare you or anything but I have been 3cm for over a week now, and am also 39 weeks. I have contractions but not really strong ones, and my water has not broken yet. They had to break my water when I was in labor with my daughter. I am also very small I am 5'2 and weighted 110 when I got pregnant. I go to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully they will break my water as I am sure this child is about 8-9 lbs too. Maybe not but it sure feels like it LOL. Anyhow my doctor told me to do lots of walking and bumpy car rides and sex. But ultimatley the baby will come when it is ready. So good luck, hope you have a speedy labor and a healthy baby.

I was dialated to 2 one week, the next week 3 and then next week (38) I was at 5! I was 70 percent effaced and thought it would be anyday. But my doctor said that it could still be weeks. I ended up gettin induced because I kept dialated without contractions.

I am very petite too. And my baby was 7 7. Your body has a natural feeling to push. When the dr checks you they see if your pelvis is large enough for the baby to fit through. If they thought there was a problem they wourl have said something.

I believe you will be able to push the baby out. Just push when you are ready too. It is natural. Just make sure you get drugs...

Like most everyone else has said, it isn't your size that determines the way the baby will be born. I have a friend that was about 5'8 and 270-280lbs when she had her daughter and they told her that her pelvis was too small to have children. Her daughter weighed about 7.5lbs and was born v.i.a c-section. Most of the time, the smaller women have an easier delivery if they are active. I would say you will be fine, and worst comes to worst, you will have a c-section. They aren't as horriable as everyone makes them out to be. I had one with my daughter, and never had any pain medication afterwords. I wish you the best. Good Luck and God Bless!

1st thing is when the doc tells you the baby's weight, it's only a guestimate. And, if you go into labor and are having alot of difficulty they may cut you down there to allow the baby to come or if the baby is in distress they will give you a c-section. I really don't think you will be overdue if your cervix is really soft good luck though! Congrats.

Your nearly there,I don't think it really matters on your size its the position of the baby that matter its size and the size of your pelvis . Mind you I'm 5'9 and my first had his head tilted up and was stuck they had to use the suction cup to vacuum him out. The midwife said next time you get pregnant get down on all fours like your scrubbing the floor as often as possible it helps with the babies position I did that with the second and there was no probs.
Just relax now the midwives know what they're doing . Good Luck.

its not the babies weight that determines if she will come out as much as how much your pelvis opens. being dialated depends on each person some people go quickly and others slower so there isn't really a way to know. however, if you haven't already started to lose your mucous plug i think you might go a little longer remember it is normal to go 38-42 weeks. however, majority of drs will not let you go past 42 weeks. so at the very very most you only have 3 weeks left. good luck

Sounds like the baby is coming soon. Try walking that will help bring the baby down. Also long bumpy car rides, and sex can induce labor. About being worried every one is a womens body does amazing things. I am sure you can do it. Good Luck!!

They will let you try to deliver if you can't because he or she is to big then they will do c section. That is a big baby but it sounds like you don't have long to go. C section is not all that bad i would rather have c section over natual any day. Anyways good luck to you and congrat's to you.

You're going to be just fine! 1cm dialation is a good thing, as is having the baby in position. Just be patient now... get those naps in while you can! Congratulations!
