If it was a meteorite, one of that weight would have left a fairly large impact crater. Check around the site that you found it.

Sorry but magnetic does not mean meteorite. The stone likely has a large amount of magnetic minerals in it like magnetite or a metal sulphide combo. It is very common in some geologies.

What does this stone look like? Is it smooth and weathered, or rough? What is the color? Where was the specimen found? This will help you identify it.
Meteorites are rare, and you may have found some type of iron ore. Hematite is one, and another is Magnetite. Magnetite can be a silvery metallic black eight sided crystal, and I have found smooth, flat, black chunks of it in Prescott Arizona.
All Iron ore will seem heavy for its size.
