repetition of whatever it is that you want to get faster at.
repetition. slightly different. over and over. everyday.
in slightly different environments.

what works for a lot of things is to analyze what you
want to perform (sprinting, pole vaulting, swimming, playing
guitar...whatever) and do the motions slow enough that
you can do them with perfect form without cheatins. then
gradually speed them up without changing the motions
so that in the end you have perfect form at high speed.

work on your stride...if your tall you will be very fast if your short to be fast is working on your stride...im short and playing baseball i would get into very close plays alot, my dad said i took a bunch of short steps hes said take long strides and you will be faster and might even use less energy as soon as i got a long stride there were no more close plays...i was always safe by a mile and made doubles on what sould be singles. it takes some time to get used a new stride but once you have it, it becomes second nature. whenever i play football i can juke better and run down the sidelines a whole lot faster. i have my schools mile run down to 6 mins 50 secs if you want to see what i am talking about watch the ohio buckeyes play tonight watch their punt/kick returner....look at how low he is to the ground his knees graze the grass!
i have got personal expierience and like my dad told me, it really works
