I want to get my Xbox 360 online but I don't want to buy the $100 wireless adapter to do it. My desktop computer in the same room uses a Linksys USB wireless adapter, so its Ethernet port is free. Could I connect the Xbox 360 to the Ethernet port on the desktop and share the wireless connection? If so, how could I set it up? If not, what's a cheap alternative?

@ Doug: Could you explain that a bit more, please?

@ Taba: Sounds great, but what do you mean by "crossover cable"? Will a regular Ethernet cable work?

diode capaciciter, now thats funny, I would have said a Flux Capacitor tho.

Anyway to your question, yes its fairly simple. Connect your xbox to your computers ethernet port using a crossover cable and then goto your network connections on your computer and right click on your lan network and select bridge. When you bridge your lan and wireless adapters it allows them to look like everything is on the same network and will let all devices have access to the internet.
