To answer the question on what have I done, well lets see. In my house we recycle everything and have our own compost pile. We grow our own food and took the electricity out of our house and use only solar energy for our day to day activities. We only have one car and it is run on bio-diesel. WHAT have YOU done lately??

Well the people who talk about cleaning up and healing the earth, some of them actually recycle, but many do not . For you here someone who has a save the whales sticker on their toyota , which uses whale oil in it's transmission. One begins to wonder what these people are really about.
You see, many of these so called enviromentalists are really trendy middle class people who like to talk about the enviroment, like to pay for expensive enviromental products-if they can emminatley afford to - and like pontificate to everyone else, what to do. But the last thing they want to do is to actually pay the price for what must be done. Being enviromentally friendly involves paying a cost two ways. It involves forgoing many of the things you like and also involves changing over to, what is at this date, very expensive and not so efficient systems. These people have not the moral character to back up by action, their so called cherrished beliefs.
But over and above this, much of the unfriendliness to the earth is being carried out by industry and government. These do it big time. Governments preach about the enviroment but don't want to forgo the taxes and income that come from consumerism and industry. Also they don't want to allienate their financal supporters and people who would vote for them. And also industry could throw tons of people out of work and make things difficult for a government without teeth. And of course industry doesn't give a fig for the earth. Their concern is souly and wholly for their profits.
Just look at the smoking situation. You have governments condemning smoking in no uncertain terms. However, the main benificeries from smoking besides the tobacco companies are the governments. They allow such to continue unabated and uncontrolled. Whilst they make a profit on everyone who dies from the habit. In short they don't give a s**t.

We have a government in New South Wales for instance(in Australia) that goes on all about enviromentally friendly transport and how people should catch public transport instead of driving their gas guzzling and polluting cars to work and leisure. Yet they have a public transport system that is more similar to the third world than a developed country. For instance if you catch something from the city on Sunday nights, after a certain time, the only thing you can catch are the night riders which go every hour. And the ferries brake between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 in the morning. Just one quarter of the day. And if you need to catch them, it 's just too bad. You see the government, like many governments, do not want to do what it takes to make an enviromentally friendly system to work. They don't want to buy the required infrastructure, they don't want to maintain it or be responsible for it. In a nut shell they want to talk about it and be known as a governement who cares for the enviroment. What they don't want to do is TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THEY DO NOT WANT TO PAY THE PRICE REQUIRED.

So basically almost no one wants to pay the price. However as far as the industries are concerned, we buy the products. As far as the governments who are the only organisations powerful enough to do something about the industries and the enviroment, we vote these governments in. If we want a clean enviroment: why the hell do we continue to vote, election after election , for governments that haven't and we know will not, do anything about a situation which might cause a problem that we cannot undo. It is our apathy and acceptance which provides the powerhouse for these things to go on. To correct this we must change. We must change the way we vote. We must do this for ourselves and the generations to come. We must leave the planet to our sucsessors as it should have been left to us by our predecessors. If we don't then we may have something in common with Omar Khayam:
THE MOVING FINGER WRITES AND HAVING WRITTEN, MOVES ON
NOT ALL THY PIETY NOR WIT, CAN CALL IT BACK TO CANCELL HALF A LINE OF IT.
NOR ALL THY TEARS, WIPE OUT A WORD OF IT.

Actually, people have done a lot towards cleaning up the environment in more developed countries like the U.S. since the 60's.

If you really want to see pollution go to a country like China or Vietnam. The reason they're polluted is the people have no voice and the government doesn't care.

Cleaning the earth is better said than done. Thus, many are just talking for propaganda but did nothing to cleanse the tworld of garbage. Action plans must be implemented and government must monitor that it was actually made.

All the governments on the planet are except, of course the one with Bushoil at its head, the US. They have all signed the Kyoto Accord which is working hard towards that goal. And there are a million private organizations around the world doing the same. Why not join one.

The hardest thing for someone to change is their daily routine. They don't clean up the Earth, or at least lessen their damage to it for the same reasons they don't go to the gym. Mainly because they don't see an immediate benefit to themselves. Everyone has thier excuses.

This earth will not be healed. Christ said that this earth shall be destroyed by fire. Nuclear fire? Possibly. God uses as He chooses. Heaven and earth shall pass away, and there shall be a new heaven and a new earth. Only after these things pass shall the earth be a good place.

Because of people getting used to of their daily chores and do not want to get out of their safe zone, especially when the smell of traditional politicians and business tycoons hanging around.

As for the talkers, they are the future politicians with business in minds.
