My best friend, who I cherish the most, is having a really rocky time in the love department. She has this really weird thing for one-sided love. I mean, as long as the guy keeps ignoring her, she likes him. Then, should the guy tell her that she likes/loves her, she loses interest in him. What's going on here? Oh, and also, she has this guy from the past (a total bastardo) who hurts her, yet she claims to still love him. Any hints to the weirdness?

Honestly, some people live for drama and don't think a relationship has passion without it.

Some people are excited by chasing after something or someone they can't have. The thrill is in the chase, and when they've got the person, it's not fun anymore.

With the guy from her past, some people are drawn to hurtful and mean people. Sometimes in an abusive relationship (whether it is physical or verbal abuse), the person being hurt starts to feel bad about themselves and have low self-esteem, and they start to think they can't do any better. Sometimes they feel like they deserve the abuse. Or maybe he has been apologizing for hurting her and she thinks he'll change. But really he won't, if he's hurt her before. Tell her to get rid of him, he's a loser!

Maybe her parents neglected her as she was growing up. So she associated that feeling of loneliness as "love" and thinks that is the only way love is expressed. Take this girl to a psychiatrist and get her some help. If you're her friend whom you cherish the most, then get her some help, real help, not yahoo help.

Love is a weird thing, I mean who would have thought Jesus would have died for our sins when He never did anything wrong. It's love and I don't know what to say to your friend other than hopefully it is just a stage and it'll pass, but who knows. We'll pray.

It is more simple than you think. She wants what she feels she cant have and once she attains it she doesn't want it anymore.I feel for the guy who really falls for her.He will have to have a lot of patience.

she is attracted by things that are hard to get. its hard to get love from a jerk so shes attracted to him... but the reason she loses interest is because it was not true love. if she finds true love this will not be a problem anymore ♥
