I knew a guy who just graduated from college. He was an engineer, so he had alot to deal w/when it came to academics. But he never went out, he refused to go to parties and didn't really hang out with friends. When he graduated, while everyone else was cheering, he was crying...
It was because he had spent the last four years of his life studying and not being able to ENJOY just being a college student. He regrets that he will never have any of those memories, of great parties and just doing stupid things with friends. The only thing he will remember are pulling all-nighters with his textbooks and study guides.
I know. You are in highschool. But even though it's just another 2 years, it is YOUR life. You're only in highschool once, so I say: enjoy it and make the most of it. Yea, there may be other people around the world who aren't fortunate enough to experience the drama known as Highschool. But why shouldn't you? You have the opportunity...take it. Although people may say, "who needs highschool?" I went through it and personally, I would never change it even if I could. You should be with kids your age anyways. Highschool serves as one of those environments which help you to learn to deal with people: something that is essential to the workplace today. I don't care how talented or smart you are, if you don't have the people skills, noone will hire you.
If not for all of this. Do it for the ride. As stupid and insignificant highschool may seem, it is your last four years to run around, experiment and make discoveries w/out severe consequences.
Whatever you choose...Best of luck to you.

What do you want to do with your life?
For a lot of careers, an AA is pretty useless.
This offer sounds really strange. Drop out of high school, just to take community college (presumably) courses which only result in an AA? You can almost certainly take those same courses now. Community college is pretty inexpensive. They're not offering you much in terms of financial benefit. If you stay in high school and just take classes at night, you get the benefit of this program without having to drop out of high school.
At most, you're saving a year or two. If you ever decide you want to transfer into a 4 yr college for a bachelors, check into whether they'll require a GED or high school diploma. You may end up having to go back and get it.
Frankly, the more I think about it, the more I wonder if it's some kind of scam.

Frankly, prom and sports and all that are only important because people think they are important, not because they actually are. Plenty of people around the world do NOT have proms and major sports or anything in high school. They are NOT missing out on anything. You won't miss out on anything, either, if you decide to see through it all and realize that there is nothing intrinsically important about those things. It's hyped up, to avoid focusing on the purpose of school, which is education. It makes the kids feel better about being in school. It's not what school is about.
Also, if you can have some sort of college diploma when you graduate high school, that's a major step up and above everybody else. I would go for it if I were the one in that position!
(P.S. "Collage" is an art thing. "College" is the school.)

Well obviously you're not the best speller, but if you were offered this opportunity then you're obviously talented. How important are things like prom, sports, etc. to you? Are you planning to go to an expensive college after you graduate? If so, is your family ready to pay for the expenses? If not than maybe getting your first 2 years of college payed for is worth missing prom, etc.

I think you should go for it. It's been 11 yrs since graduation, but I had a friend that was in a similar program. He did, however, come home for prom and some school events. He kept in touch with most of his friends, but we didn't see him daily like we were used to. In his case, it wasn't exactly dropping out of school, because at the end of our senior year, he walked down the aisle and graduated with us... only thing was he was now two years ahead of the rest of us. Don't dismiss too quickly, think about it.

It is really difficult for anyone else to tell you what to do with this one because it is so personal. Sit down and make a list of all the benefits and disadvantages of each choice and see what you think. Consider very carefully everything you write and consider how much each one means to you. Then make a more informed decision. Possibly you can go to the college and look around to see what you think before you decide?
My final words of wisdom are from Shakespeare:
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!

stay in high school. you may hate it now. but if you don't stay you'll regret it. even if you go and then get your AA DIPLOMA you will not get a job easily b/c you are young and people will say that you are inexperienced. also College not collage. make a pro con list, why you should go and stay. if there is something that makes you stay really bad then stay.

What's more important to you? Technically, fi you went, you could still go to sports games and go to prom with a friend. I would go to the College Academy, but sports and prom and stuff like that doesn't matter to me anyway.
