well it depends if there are any cross members in the way of the oil pan or not. if there isnt any thing in the way of the oil pan it is pretty simple just take off the oil pan and then take out the oil pump, and since the car is and older one I would replace all of this.Oil Pump, Oil Pump Intermediate Shaft, Oil Pump Screen Assembly, Oil Pressure Switch {aka: oil sending unit gauge}, Oil Pan Gasket and Oil Filter. You will also need approximately 5 to 6 quarts of oil. I would suggest using Royal Purple as well as a bottle of Prolong, Engine Oil Treatment.

a million-drain the oil 2-unbolt the oil pan 3-unbolt the oil pump 4-take off the %.-up reveal screen 5-earlier you place interior the recent pump,%. it with petroium jelly,so it wont suck air. 6-deploy the reveal screen. 7-bolt up the pump. 8-deploy the oil pan, with a clean gasket,(yet dont overtighten the bolts)then placed the oil in it.desire this helps you...sturdy good fortune.

if it just has low oil pressure then its probably not the oil pump its probably worn out mains and inserts if it is probably easier to un bolt engine mounts and pick engine up as far as it will go and take oil pan off then its easy.

i own a repair shop, and there's not enough room here for me to give you every detail of the job,,i recommend you go buy a good repair manual,,on this one, such as a Haynes repair manual they cover all of this in detail,,and this way you,ll have the book there in case you run across a problem that even i cant see ,or possibly know about,,that's the best thing to do here,,good luck hope this help,s.
