I sort of have nervous habits...moving fast, not knowing how to deal w/ confrontation too much, or how to deal with people dissing me. How can I buck up and get some god-darned confidence?

when i was able to accept that i was shy and ill at ease, then when i noticed myself feeling shy, scared and ill at ease, then i would say to myself, of course, thats because i 'm shy , scared and ill at ease. Then I could take that step to ask that girl out or approach a group, because i knew i was only shy, scared and ill at ease. That if i relied on my feelings, then nothing would ever change. I needed to rely on my rational self, cause it knew what to do.

I think that you need to remember that us humans we are all the same. I am not better than you and you are not better than me. Alot of people are insecure. Next you need to speak up for yourself more, when you do this you learn to give value and respect to yourself. You do not want people treating you like dirt because that's how you start to feel like dirt. Next is you need to slow down, stop moving so fast and learn to relax. Take a yoga class or teach yourself how to meditate. Next join a club or sports team so that you can learn to make new friends who have similiar interest. Karate is a good class you learn self respect and respect for others and you learn to fight.

Gosh I don't know. Wish I did though because I am the very same way. You are not alone. Wish I could be confident too. I gotta tell ya that good sexual relationships seem to give me a boost- not to be shallow but they really do.

stop comparing yourself to everyone. you are you and measure yourself according to your determination of what a person should be. When you know yourself and your values of who you are you will become comfortable within your own skin. This will create confidence since you no longer measure your worth by what everyone Else decides is right.
