People who desire more than one mate should just swing, not get married.

No, but I know people who have mentioned that they could be because their religion allows it. Curiously, although there is no stigma (Islam allows up to 4 wives), none of the people I know have 'taken advantage' of that.

As far as my opinions: It's not for me (I'm a one-woman man), but if someone else wants to, I have no objections.

Sweetsmile, women can't be 'polygamists', they would be 'polyandrists' (if I remember correctly).

i don't personally know any polygamists but i kno the singer akon is one. he has three wives and is apparently trying to make a reality tv show out of his life. i don't really totally agree wit polygamy, i would never marry a man wit other wives and i would never have more than one husband, but if it is legal or normal in other counties, who are we to judge them?

Most of us are polygamist, but feel forced by different things to remain mono. many, many men can't stop desiring (or even really having) more than one (sex) partner. many women feel the same but society wouldn't let them do it. of course many people love thier partners and don't wanna sleep around, but i'm sure it crosses thier minds every now and then. it's just human nature.. especially men, they wanna sleep with every hot or attractive woman they meet. Most men wouldn't sleep with more than one woman because either they are religious. or they don't wanna hurt thier wives/gf's feelings. Imagine if a woman tells her man she s ok with him sleeping around, and won't even ask for the same right!! sex is not always connected to love.

Yes - and they seemed just as moral as everyone else around them. Polygamy is not the norm in this society - heck, it's illegal! - but it is the norm in some societies. I wouldn't be too quick to judge.

It's not for me, though. Loving one good woman who loves me in return is just right for me.

No. But I do realise it is a lot more "common" now than we want to know/believe. Still, it's mostly kept under wraps esp. in the Asian society
