what should I do?

do I owe anybody anything? Like apologies? Maybe something.

I don't even know what they did or didn't do. I want to help heal it if I can. In any way I can. I'm pretty sure I'm at least 1/4 Jewish too so maybe that affects it.

Forget it. You had nothing to do with it. The sins of the father ARE Not the problem of the children. You lead your life. Forget about apologists.

Get over yourself, I have ancestors who fought on the losing side during the Civil War, do I owe anyone anything? No, they fought for what they believed, should I apologize? No, I'm proud that I'm related to men of such conviction and I hope that someday I can call upon that when needed.

I also have German family who fought for the losing side in WWII. They also fought for what they believed, were they terrible people? No, maybe misled but not bad. Fighting for what you believe is something that most people are too afraid to do. In all conflicts there's a winner and a loser.

Be proud of your family and where you come from and learn from their mistakes.
