From the sounds of it, your IV came out of the vein or the vein blew, which let IV fluids into the surrounding skin. To make things a little more comfortable, apply gently heat. The increased heat will encourage healing and help with the soreness, as well as any bruising which shows up. Rest the arm and keep it at or about heart level when you can, so as not to stress the vein which was injured. Otherwise, it should heal itself in about a week. Bruising which shows up will take a bit longer to fade, but keep applying the heat to encourage it to fade- if any shows up. Hope you feel better soon,
