I personally think it is BS that the jays are contradicting Gustavo Chacin as the third starter. What do you guys think?

Gus has great stuff.. Ive always liked watching him pitch...But the thing is that with Hallady and Burnett he is going to be the number 3 starter in toronto for a while. Burnett will be healthy and roy will give 200+ innings like he usually does. I think he is good but not good enough to be the top starter for the Toronto Bluejays.

With guys like Halladay and AJ, the battle in the rotation will be for the thrid starter. Do I see Gus starting third? Maybe, but there's definately alot of competition. With Janssen, Marcum, and Chacin having compariable 06 seasons, its fair too say that the starting rotation will be a work in progress until someone breaks out. And lets not forget about Dustin Mcgowan or Towers, who might rebound (or not...).

Chacin is a good starter, but this command and "stuff" are suspect

Gustavo should be the number 2 man in all fairness his career record with ws and losses is 23-14 with a 4.05 ERA i think that he is the future ace of that staff when Halladay leaves

I'm a Jays fan since their first season. He has a lifetime 4.05 ERA which isn't too bad for the AL. I think third starter is about right.

It seems about right to me. No way he'll be higher and his record indicates that he deserves to be number 3 and no one this year is gonna take it from him.
