Kapil Dev, he was named in 2002 as cricketer of the century by wisden. Although Wasim Akram is rated as the best fast bowler of all time.

Wasim Akram was a better bowler than kapil , especially during later half of their career . But Kapil was a better overall "All Rounder"

undoubtedly Kapil Dev ...he is the greatest fast bowling all rounder india has produced.
who can forget the 1983 world cup ...the match against zimbabwe when india were 5 down for 17 and in came kapil dev and scored a blistering 175 to notch up a victory
kapil dev was a clean hitter of the ball and his accuracy and ability to swing the ball specially away from right handers was amazing.
on the other hand wasim akram no doubt has been bowling spearhead for pakistan ...
he is often regarded the best left arm seamer around the world with mastery over seam and swing and many more tools in his armoury..
but his batting prowess wasnt good enough to match with legendary all rounders..
maybe it is something to do with cricketers of earlier era that we idolise them more than our era.

Wasim Akram undoubtedly because he had more varities in his bowling armoury. Secondly Wasim Akram was more consistent in bowling and was very much a feared bowler with a canny ability to take wickets irrespective of wicket conditions.
Also his batting improved significantly towards the later part of his career.

Both great players, but Kapil had better batting abilities and Wasim had better bowling abilities.
