When is the race held? It held at the same time each year? How do race officials handle accidents? What hapens if a race has to be terminated before anyone completes the race?

anything else you may feel is important about the race...could you tell me??? I'm doing a math project, and I can do the math, I'm just having trouble finding these answers on the web. Thanks!

1.) The Indy 500 is run every year on Memorial Day (last monday in May)
2.) If there is an accident, generally a yellow flag (caution) is put out, so that the track can be cleaned up. During that time, the cars slow to a pre-determined speed and continue to circle the track. If the accident is extremely severe, a red flag may come out, which forces the race to stop until the site is cleaned up. This is done if a section track is so damaged as to be unsafe to pass.
3.) The race may be postponed to the next day (if terminated early), or if terminated late, then the race leader at the last completed lap would win. However, the race officials make all possible efforts to avoid this.
