My husband is in love with his female best friend, he told me how he would treat her if they were together. Then he also told me how he wanted to be with her and his eyes light up when he is around her. I know he loves me, but he really loves her. But she is married, and she doesn't have romantic feelings for him. But he is trying to convince her to feel the way he does, he is head over hills for her.

He needs to make a decision right now. Either you, or her. Before (if it already isn't too late) infidelity starts. Let him make his choice, but when he does, that's it. No turning back either way. He can't have his cake and eat it too.
By the way, personal opinion, what a buffoon. What a moron, treating you this way. Like you need to hear how he would treat another woman. Why isn't he treating YOU that way?

I am surprised that he isnt spending his time convincingyou to stay as you packyour bags.
I know what it is like to love someone who doesnt deserve you. It hurts like hell, but so does watching his eyes light up when he sees his bestfriend. You shouldhave been his bestfriend.
Your heart wants what it wants but dont you deserve to have someone's eyes light up when they see YOU, dont you want someone talking about allthe nice ways he is going to treat YOU? Dont you want someone head over HEELS inlove with YOU?

One thing he has in his favor is a really understanding wife, and that can't be matched by most females when it comes to their husbands lusting over another female without some type of retaliation.

You must really Love him alot to be even asking this type of question and staying with him like you're doing. My opinion is that you need to let him go. He already told you he's in love with another woman. Let him go to her and miss out on what he's already got in you. He'll learn from his mistake, believe me.
