Games. Contests. Break into groups according to factors that guarantee there will be a mix of boys and girls...such as those born during Jan and Feb, or March and April; Those whose last names begin with A-E, F-L and so forth. Plan in advance the pairings you want...and be sure to mix them...no bf/gf together, try new groupings for each game. Go to the library or on line for party games that can be played by groups. Avoid contests of physical skill that gives an advantage to certain people, avoid intellectual contests that allow one person to stand out. For mental games, have teams of two or three working together. Make up cards/sheets with all the rules, enough pieces of paper to give everyone. Try singing. Try dancing. Try walking with an egg on a spoon, three-legged races. Mostly, have fun. Sounds great.
