Not any more...
Before I was married (about ten yrs ago) I lived in my car for a few months.
When our family was just starting out, we lived in a shitty apartment in the shitty part of town. Sometimes it was really hard. I'm not gonna start confessing to a bunch of crap, but I have done a few things that I'm not too proud of. It was for good reason.... feed my kid, buy diapers, food for us... I have never been without a job since I was fourteen y/o... So calm down, I'm not lazy.
The past six/ seven yrs have been really good to my wife, daughters, and me. I have been very successful and lucky with some good investments. It all started with trying to get a job on the weekends for extra cash... I was filling out applications everywhere! I was at blockbuster video filling out that humbling application when this smart @ss manager said "I don't need another employee, I need a window washer” I left the store and went to k-mart to buy a bucket, squeegee, and rags. Within a few weeks, I was washing the windows at every Blockbuster in the metro area. Shortly after that, I had to start hiring a staff to cover the workload. When I sold the company, there were 60+ employees covering three states. If it had a window, we washed it! In the wintertime, I even had a crew that would go to S. America to wash windows on high-rise buildings...
It just goes to show, anyone can do it! Keep your head up and look for that chance! My initial startup cost was less than eight bucks

Its rough the last 2-3 years because fuel , utilities , insurance and
taxes have gone right through the roof. Any raises that have come
my way are eaten up by putting it toward the medical insurance
copays that have increased even more. I really need to find a
2nd job pretty soon.

Sometimes... I made the hard decision to quit my job once my daughter was born. I take college courses on the internet and stay at home with my baby.
Living on just my husband's income can be rough sometimes, but we'll make it. We decided that giving my daughter a caring home life was more important than buying flashy things and "toys" for ourselves whenever we want.
