My boyfriend and I are 16 and we took my 15 month old nephew to the mall today, would you think that he was ours because one guy looked at us and shook his head.

Maybe, I'm not sure. I wouldn't give you a dirty look or anything, though. Most likely not, unless you and your boyfriend had some intense PDA or looked suspiciously like the baby or were fawning over the baby. But otherwise, I'd just think it was a cousin or brother or nephew.

I have a four year old that I used to babysit on a regular basis. The four year old HATED being stuck at home, so me and my boyfriend (mid 20's) would take him around to Walmart and Petsmart and toy stores.

Everywhere we went we would get looks and comments about being young parents.

I know how uncomfortable that can be, and I say that you should just ignore the ignorant people! Know that you are smart, not pregnant, childless, and will never treat anyone like you are being treated.

If you hear an out loud comment, explain to them politely (Don't lose your temper or you will look insane) that he is your nephew. Or repeat often outloud "I have the best Nephew ever" or "I just love my nephew."

I might. But I work at the welfare office and I see tons of teen parents on a daily basis, so I wouldnt shake my head or think any less of you.

I wouldn't think so by looking at you, but i know that most people would. I have a nephew, and he will be 5 mos 2moro, and when i go places with him (alone) people usually look at me or talk to me with pity. Even when i am with my parents, i am usually holding him (hey, he loves his aunt!), and people will come up to me and be like "ooooooh, he's so cute, just like his mom" and i look at them, and i'm like "i'm not his mom, i'm his aunt" and sometimes they make a look on their faces like "yeah-right". It is aggravating, but i'm pretty much like, whatever. Don't worry about people, they are going to think what they are going to think, and you can't stop that.

Sorry, but yes. Look how many other irresponsible teens your age and younger have babies. Its' a damn shame, but you remember to wait. Its' way too early for you and him to have a child of your own. Just wait.

No and the man shouldn't have judged so quickly without knowing the facts first!

it sometimes does seem different to see things like that. i know a couple of people thought my 3 yr. old and 2 yr. old sisters were my kids but you shouldn't let it bother you. they don't know anything about your life and you'll probably never see them again.
