How do they put acryllic nails on??

My mom said they have to cut your nails really short and it hurts and shes never gotten fake nails before so shes probably lying to me just so that I wont get them.

They typically do cut your real nails if they are long because once you get acrylic they tend to grow back fast; however, you can just request that they don't. But, getting your nails done is not painful. It really just consists of gluing on the fake nail, putting acrylic powder on it (to harden it), buffing, filing, and using a nail drill, to obtain a good shape. I have been getting my nails done since I was 12 and I absolutely love getting my nails done (with matching feet)! Hope that helped a little :)

They do cut your nails short. They buff your whole nail, apply glue to the fake nail and bond it to yours. Repeat 10 times.* They cut the fake nail to the desired length the acrylic is then applied by dipping the wet brush into the powder and going over the fake nail. Repeat 10 times.* Filing and buffin then its done.

*If you dont have 10 finger sorry. No harm intended.

** If you hit your nail on something it HURTS! Another reason to cut your nail short, if you break the fake nail your nail will not pull with it. The dryer door hit mine and my nail underneath had grown out - this happens after about two months with regular fill ins - and it split my nail almost to the cuticle. OUCH!

They don't cut your nails really short... here's what they do:
The trim your nails, or sometimes they don't I'm not really sure because my nails were already short when I got there.. k anyways... they put on tips at the end of your nail to make it longer, like the plastic ones. then they put on the white acrylic on the tips, then put the pink on the rest of the nail. then the file it down with this weird spinny thing, and make it even and what not & put a top coat and your done!
