can someone briefly explain the origin of the nucleus?

Since this is the biology section, I assume you mean the cell nucleus, as opposed to the atomic nucleus. Of course, no one really knows the answer to your question, but your question is nearly identical to: "How did the first eukaryotic cells originate?" In my own mind, I know that approximately 1.5 Billion years ago, prokaryotic bacteria and so called blue green algae ruled the seas. Occasionally there is a negative mutation that occurs with bacteria called an L-form that prevents them from making their cell wall. Usually when this happens, the cell swells up to enormous size and eventually bursts, due to osmotic forces. Suppose there was a bacterium that had this unfortunate event happen to it, but it was unusually adept at making new cell membrane to sort of keep up with the expansion without bursting. Then you would be seeing a giant amoeba like creature that would be in an ideal role for being a giant predator against its fellow bacteria, by literally swallowing them whole and digesting them inside vacuoles. But occasionally these swallowed prokaryotes might be able to survive inside this amoeba, and maybe even do useful work for the amoeba, such as energy production (mitochondria), photosynthesis (chloroplasts), and maybe even library for all the genes to be kept in one tidy place, i.e. "nucleus". So that is how I see the eukaryotic cell first coming to be. What do you think?

well if you mean discovery, it was doscovered by Rutherford during the gold-foil experiment he shot alpha particles at gold foil and when they didn't all go thru he knew that there was something dense in the way-nucleus

I'm guessing a fusion reaction but I'm interested in how it really comes about too, so will read on.
