i thought this site was interesting. alien-ufo-pictures.com. go to the one that says "absolute proof aliens exist, ufo sightings proof and evidence". it's pretty convincing.

I don't have video or pics, but there is some evidence that the Black Sea used to be much smaller, and was seperated from the ocean, but at a lower sea level several thousand years ago. Eventually the sea rose, or maybe there was an Eathquake, or whatever, and the black sea flooded over a tremndous area in an extremely short amount of time. Some scienctists have found remnants of houses and stuff on the sea floor there, and think this could have been the basis for the flood of Noah's ark fame.

The ancient Greeks were pretty smart folks who knew a bit about anatomy...
It is pretty likely that when they found mastodon bones and rebuilt them, it appeared to be a giant human with one eye (mammalian body plans are all basically the same - see first two links)
Then there is the Mermaid/manatee. Apparently these creatures were mistaken for mermaids (no Ariel here -third link)
In fact many of the creatures from mythology have natural counterparts that were mistakenly thought to be unusual (unicorns, and sea monsters to name two)
(more modern, but still a myth) Everyone knows about how deadly Brown Recluse spider bite is right? Well, it turns out that it really isn't all that bad (fourth link)
There is also something to vampires in that as a body decomposes the skin recedes so it appears that one's nails and teeth grow - there are also conditions known as catalepsy and porphyria that helped matters along (fourth link - not real but gives you an idea of the teeth)
Of course then there was this guy who claimed to be born of a virgin, and he supposedly walked on water.... oh, wait, you want evidence.

I think you might be missing the point of mythology a bit. Myths are created to explain things that otherwise can't be explained. It's one of mankinds greatest acheivements - that we can create an explanation for an unexplained occurrance.
