I'm an engineer at a food manufacturer. I can't wear polish either.
What my manicurist suggested was to still get regular manicures, but instead of polish, get a high shine buff. This has strengthened my nails a great deal.
Also, regarding your gloves, put the gloves on and rubber bands around your wrists to prevent the water from going in. I did this when I worked at a coal plant and the coal fines would get underneath my nails and in my socks. You have to play around with the rubber bands to find out what will work for you (ie, which ones won't cut off your circulation).

It relies upon. green nail polish many times makes me sense nauseated for some reason. And sometime black nail polish makes a woman seem too goth, or too emo, or something. yet frequently i don't observe, nor do I care. ===edit=== "i'm not emo or goth, i'm not something, i'm in simple terms a guy or woman" which would be authentic, whether it has not something to do alongside with your unique question. You have been asking if men observe your colour of nail polish, and what do they think of roughly it.

Heyy,
Wow you do have pretty fragile nails!!!
Uhh so maybe you get short fake nails or somthing, right.
Or you can also get yourself a nail kit that may help.
Now for your dry hands, everyone has that dishwashing prob., What you should do is rub like tons of vasline and lotion on ur hands and take a pair of gloves, put em' on and sleep with em'. Trust me it really helps!!!!!
Well there ya go!!!!

I would make sure I took a good multi vitamin to help grow my nails. Also use a good thick hand cream every time you wash your hands to help replace the moisture.

Try a product that is designed to improve cuticle health.
Also, wear lots of lotion when you go to bed at night and wear gloves to improve absorption.

i personally LOVE doing my nails, so there is a lot you can do. are you allowed to put on a thin coat of clear? if you are, use the strengthening polish, and make sure it is only a thin coat. if you make it thin enough, it wont be to noticible.
hope i helped!
