(x+30)+(2x - 50)= 180
x+30+2x-50=180 combine like terms
3x-20=180 add 20 to each side
3x=200 divide both sides by 3
x=200/3=66 2/3

hi, If mA = 2x² - 2x + 40 4, mB = 5x² +30x+50 and mC = x² +20x+30 then mA + mB + mC = 8x² + 48x + 124 = a hundred and eighty 8x² + 48x + 124 = a hundred and eighty 8x² + 48x - fifty six = 0 8(x² + 6x - 7) = 0 8(x + 7)(x - a million) = 0 x = -7 or x = a million Discard x = -7 because it makes

actually, you do nt need the brackets so..
x+30+2x-50=100
first plus and minus the like terms
3x-20=100
then done
3x=100+20
3x=120
x=120/3
x=40 every time you switch the numbers or
the symbols to the other side
the signs will be the opposite
eg - to the other side of the = is +

No parentheses are needed because it's just addition.

x + 30 + 2x - 50 = 180

Add your components....3x - 20 = 180

Add 20 to both sides to cancel it out...3x - 20 + 20 = 180 + 20 simplifies to 3x = 200.

Divide both sides by 3x. x = 200/3

You don't need the parantheses on this equation.

x + 30 + 2x - 50 = 180

I would combine your like terms.

3x - 20 = 180

Now, to isolate the variable, add 20 to both sides.

3x = 200

Divide by 3 to get x by itself.

x = 200 / 3
