If you mean signing someone else's name, yes that might be forgery (if the person whose name you're signing gave you permission to do so, it might not be forgery). but if you mean just using a fake name, it would not be forgery. It might still be illegal if your intent was to defraud or mislead someone. but if you're using a fake name just to maintain anonymity or privacy, and there's no harm to anyone, I doubt that that's illegal. If the landlord finds out about the fake name, he probably could void the lease if he wanted to.

A fake signature? Do you mean a fake name? Or just sign your name in a different way other than your normal signature? Of is this even a legitimate question?

How did you already realize it truly is his fake call? after all, walk all the way down to an area police station and document fraud prices hostile to him. furnish a replica of the settlement, economic company statements/cheque, and understanding about his actual call -- such as his registration number plate, description, etc. The police might want to or might want to not do a lot, yet ascertain you get a replica of the police criticism. next, document a civil case hostile to him. even if it truly is lower than $10,000 to $25,000 (depending upon the province you're in) you should document in small claims courtroom, or you should employ a legal professional and sue him.
