well... as a subject, it is probably not important to you, however, it is good to know. Meiosis and mitosis are processes of cell reproduction. Without these processes, you won't exist -period. That's why it's important to you.

Meiosis is a type of cell division that is essential for sexual reproduction - it creates the chromosomes that makes it possible to reproduce sexually (male and female gametes or X and Y chromosomes). Without Meiosis, you will neither be male or a female. You will have no sex organs.

Mitosis is a type of cell division that is basically your cells multiplying themselves asexually (without sex - basically cloning themselves). It is constantly happening in your body every second. Your body has billions of cells, and the cells are constantly multiplying, and replacing the dead cells. So, without Mitosis, you will grow old rapidly and die within a few weeks. Mitosis allows you to live longer by replacing old or dead cells with more new ones.

So.. you understand why Meiosis and Mitosis are important? It is part of life - it is a process of propagating life.

doesnt sound like it's important to you. It would definitely be useful to know just because it's biology, it's part of the way things work but if you're not a bio, physio, or whatever major..then ...do what you want if you dont care then be it.
