I disagree with Mangy Coyote. Johnson was not removed from office.

Johnson and Clinton have been the only Presidents who were impeached by the House (charged with crimes that warrant being removed from office), but none have ever been removed from office by the Senate.

Amazing. Half the answers on here are totally wrong. Impeachment is only a trial. Andrew Johnson was not put out of office, he escaped by one vote. Bill Clinton was not found guilty. Nixon was not impeached.

Your answer is two. Johnson and Clinton. Johnson came back after his Presidency to serve a distinguished career in the Senate.

Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were the only two presidents to ever be impeached. Clinton was impeached on two counts: grand jury perjury and obstruction of justice

None. Only Clinton and Nixson had charges. Though Nixson was going to most likely get impeached if he didn't resign.

But there were NO Presidents of the United States that have gotten impeached by Congress.

2 - Andrew Johnson (the dude after Lincoln) who was removed from office; William Clinton (you know the guy with the chick and the cigar and stuff). Please note that impeachment is the process by which a president is officially investigated by the Congress. Only one (Johnson) was removed from office. Nixon was not impeached; he resigned and was pardoned prior to impeachment.
