Kinda depends on what your goal is, doesnt it? What is the show oriented around, for example.... Home ownership, maintenance, construction? Cape Girardeau, Mo, has a 'Women's Convention', in which they bring in companies owned by women, products for women, it even covers some education for women regarding various topics. So... is the 'home show' supposed to show case existing properties... new trends and technologies, educate people about maintenance, or construction?
The above list is a good start... but do not forget the construction industries... handyman services, contractors, HVAC dealers/installers... you might even want to have a home inspector or two....
And... of course... depending on just who you are trying to target for this show, will affect who else you may want to invite to participate. (perhaps some local community agencies?)
Good Luck

If I understand your question correctty, you don't really have an established home improvement business. But you are looking to have an interesting booth at a home show.
If I am wrong, ignore the rest of this answer.
Based on my own experience as an attendee at home shows, I can only take so much of "major improvement" booths, along with the high pressure sales pitch. I get a kick out of booths that demonstrate simple things, like how to take grease stains off the bottom of my pots and pans in 3 minutes. Or booths that serve food. People pay outrageous amounts of money for something that smells good, or sounds tasty, and that they can eat while walking, instead of sitting down.
Even impulse-purchase craft items for the home or garden would work. Or maybe balloons, t-shirts... stuff like that, as people who usually attend trade shows on the weekend bring their kids along.
