I don't believe that a definitive answer to this question has been found. But, personally, I believe that it is a myth.
I would also like to know which scientific studies have proved it and their credibility.

It's not as spontanious as they would have you believe. The majority of cases have been followed up on, and they've noticed a correlation: Extremely high amounts of alcohol + coma from alcohol poisoning + cigarette = spontanious human combustion.
When you get THAT poisoned, small amounts of ethanol will actually excrete out your pores of your skin (not enough that you can see it, you might be able to taste it if you sweat though, although you'd be in a coma so I'm not sure about that), and the cigarette will light it on fire.

actual fable. each case of alleged spontanious human combustion has been defined utilising genuine technology and forensic detective artwork. the only those that have faith in SHC are people who do not examine the two factors of the study.

the answer to the question is not known for sure .
people have been able to partial replicate the results of human combustion . such as they way the body can burn but the surrounding materials do not burn.
proof one way of the other is not yet enough to say for sure at least not as far as i see it
