Did anyone hear a new report about jewllery from stores by the name of Claire's and Ardeens that it contains lead? Was it specific pieces or all of it ?
How do I tell my tween that she has to pitch all her possessions she bought there with her own money?

The smartest thing to do is to go to the hardware store and pick up a lead testing kit...this is most commonly used to test older houses for lead based paint. It works on anything that may contain lead (such as old pottery, etc.). They're basically chemical swabs that, when wiped on the object being tested, will change color if lead is present (harmless to the object).

This will also let you know for sure if that report was just a bad rumor, or if it was factual. Don't trust word of mouth, ESPECIALLY on yahoo answers, if your health or that of your family's is at stake...find out for sure.

As long as she is not chewing on it, she should be fine. It was probably on just some of the products. I know the Dollar stores are always recalling charms because of lead.
