I have a multitude of friends in the USA that come from India ( we go to the same university). Most of them have only been in Amercia for a year or less but all say they love it and will never leave. What are your perceptions of the US? ARe they favorable or unfavorably. Please elaborate.

I think most Indians have a favorable view of America.
I am American and I have been in India and all the Indians I talked to were very friendly and had lots of questions about America.

Mostly, they probably have higher expectations than what America can actually deliver. They think everyone in America is rich and that all American girls are sexy babes, when obviously this is not reality.

Also, most of the Indians who live in America are fairly well-off, and not really an accurate representation of what most Indians are like.

Most Indians I know are arrogant, and think that they are far superior to Americans, when in fact they are sorely undereducated (computer programmers) and have VERY poor communication skills. They have a totally unwarranted elitist attitude.

Also, they treat their women like slaves, no respect at all.

Got to add this, one guy we know spent every night out at the discos, leaving his wife and kids home. Even when the guy got transferred, he had to go to another state, and fly back to get his family, he called the wife, and lied to her, told her his flight was delayed, and went out drinking and dancing all night, that fine gentleman with all the family values is an Indian. I told him if he were my husband, I would make him cry. this guy is a pig, and it does not matter what country he was born in, nobody is immune, so they can cut the self-righteous act, we know a lot of Indian men, and a fair percentage of them are man-whores, just like Americans

Indian recognise n respect america's contribution to the world in the earlier era of manufacturing. but in this age of information technology, the sheer size of indian educated mass is leading and contributing to the world enormously along with chinese and other asian peoples, America is always viewed as a land of opportunities but the lack of culture and family values and the different life-style makes most asians envy as well as feel superior at the same time, i guess!
