First check to see if it has an uninstall program bundled with the software, most programs like this do.
Second if you can't find an uninstall program then open Windows Explorer go to the folder where the file is kept and search for uninsta*.* This should give you the uninstall program.

If that doesn't work then you need to do it through Windows Add/Remove programs, but you can't do it while the program is still running so you need to restart your computer in Safe Mode.

Restart your computer and when Windows starts to boot up keep tapping the F8 key, don't hold it down or the computer will not recognize it. When the computer finishes it will put up a mostly black screen and ask you what mode you want to use. Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode." In this mode only the bare minimum programs are loaded, not Norton's. If you can log on as the administrator.

Go: Start >Settings>Control Panel>Add Remove Programs
Wait for the list to find all the programs then go down the screen until you find the Norton Antivirus or Norton Symatic entry. Press the button to add/remove programs an your antivirus software will be uninstalled.

Then reboot the computer and go on as usual.

Don't you guys think the obvious solution is out? Why else would he ask? Even more, just uninstalling Norton from the CP doesn't always work.

You should try Norton Removal Tool
