Yes, you can. I am pretty sure your transmission uses a cable shifter, and there are more aftermarket shifters out there for GM automatics than you can shake a stick at (pardon the pun).
Check out the shifters from Hurst or Lokar. They come with somewhat minimal directions - you will probably need to cut a hole in the floor for a Lokar shifter, while Hurst ones are usually cable-operated and involve more drilling than cutting.

i own a repair shop,,and try this,,go to a junk yard ,,and see if you can find one that came with a floor shifter they made a lot of the regals with floor shifters in them ,and bucket seats,,if you find one,,you can buy everything you need for it right there ,its a lot easier than trying to make it,,its still going to be a job to put it all in,and make it work right,,but at least you,ll have the right parts,,and a Pontiac shifter will also fit it,,if you,ll go look around,,theres a lot of floor shifters that will work in it,,good luck hope this help,s.

you can buy a universal floor shift, you would have to cut a hole in the floor, and rehook the linkage to the floor shift, its not that hard to do. go to jcwhitney.com and find a kit or oder one from napa or autozone. good luck
