Open them and let the air get in there. If that doesnt work you may want to take everything out that is in there and clean inside, and then leave them open for a while. And then since you dont use them often i say whenever you dont have company just go in the kitchen and open them and leave them open for a while. It doesnt hurt anyone and the smell will go away.

If they are wood clean with Murphy's Oil Soap and then leave the baking soda open in there. They are good for 3 months after being opened.

Put an open box of baking soda in the back of your cupboard.. it should soak up all those bad odors....
