I got XM Satellite Radio for a Christmas gift and was excited about it, but am so far disappointed. Many shows are the same (and at the same time) as what's available on regular radio. I thought there would be fewer commercials. And stations like Oprah & Friends have mediocre programming, from what I've been able to tell. I'm not much of a sports fanatic, so that doesn't appeal to me very much. What am I missing? I was expecting a whole bunch of great, commercial-free programming all of the time. I do like listening to the E! True Hollywood story on the radio, I must admit....

I really enjoy my XM Radio. I'm not a big music fan so I don't really get a lot of use out of those channels. I like the oldies music channels. Country, pop and rock. I also enjoy E! True Hollywood channel a lot.

I also really enjoy the Old Time Radio Channel. Laugh USA is another channel I like. It gets annoying though if you try to listen to it for a long time. XM has some nice christian music stations too, if you like that kind of music.

The best thing for me about XM Radio is the Air America Channel. Especially listening to the Randi Rhodes show!!

My family lives over six hours away and traveling to see them was always such a long boring trip. Since having XM we can listen to the same station or surf around to familiar stations on the long drive. It's a lot better than trying to pick up local station that always seem to fade out just when you are interested in something or enjoying a song!!

In my opinion, absolutely nothing.

Now I'm a Sirius Satellite Radio subscriber (we have four Sirius radios in our household) and I listen to it religiously because it has some amazing programming, not just in music, but in the talk format as well (not to mention Howard Stern who has never been funnier).

As for E! True Hollywood Story, that's also on Sirius...

I bought mine for the baseball (I am a NY Mets fan, and the walk-in cooler interfered with am radio). I listen to XM64 at work-there are no commercials, and the sound is clear. After work I switch to XM90. Whatever your favorite music is, you can find it there...
