If while backing a spark plug out and it doesnt come out and just turns and turns does that mean the spark plug is stripped? The car has driven 8000 miles after the attempt to remove the spark plugs. A 800 mile mountainous trip fouled at least one spark plug. should I bring it to a shop and just ask for a plug job or will it end up with them trying to stick it for thousands of dollars for new heads?

Some shops might offer to attempt a repair with a heli-coil. But depending on badly it's stripped, it may or may not work. If it doesn't work, you need to have the head(s) replaced.

Go to a shop tell them you've got a stripped plug stuck in one cyl. Tell them you want it removed a helicoil. If you want it real cheap tell them you do not want the head removed. (not the right way to do it but if your not wanting to spend money on the car?)If the shops good they should be able to do th job with out to much going down into the cyl.Cost not sure what they'll charge but I 've done some for about 150.The Right way to do it is to remove the head and helicoil or even have the heads rebuilt Or third get used ones. Depends on what you care to spend. Good luck hope I helped

if the plug is just turning and won't come out it sounds like it is stripped but replacing the head is not nessesary because there is a fix for this problem called a helli coil which will restore the threads for the spark plug but i recommend you have a proffesional install it hope this helps and good luck!

you will possibly desire to run the plugs your vehicle demands. in the journey that your vehicle is boosted or runs nitrous. Get the plugs the develop/nitrous business enterprise recommends. If that could be a severe horse NA motor then get the plugs the engine builder recommends.
