yes its fine. de-caf still has like 2% caffine in it. The caffine doesn't hurt your baby when breastfeeding, just causes her/him to have gas, which can be uncomfortable. Depending on their age and how well they move around.

Depends on your baby.

Try it and see.

With my 1st I ate and drank whatever I wanted including lots of really spicy foods. My youngest has silent reflux and I cant have lots of things-coffe or tea (including decaf), milk, corn, chocolate, caffine, carbonated bevs, beans, eggs, broccoli, cabbage, I could go on . . .

Keep a food diary to see how it affects baby. To do so write down the time you eat everything and the time your baby is fussy, has bad gas ect. Food passes into your breastmilk anywhere between <4 hours to >24 hours.

I am breastfeeding and I drink decaf. No problems with the baby.

yes, so indulge yourself. My doctor told me I could drink all the decaf I wanted but no more than one cup of regular coffee.

It still has some level of caffiene, as does non-herbal tea and most soft drinks. I would check with your pediatrician and follow their advice for how much you can have, but I personally avoided caffiene while breastfeeding. It will pass through the breastmilk, and if it affects me it'll affect the baby. My older son is 13 and I still don't let him have caffiene, so you can see how I'd avoid my baby getting any too!

Some foods do offend a little one more than it does others. But just remember that the farmer always knew to keep the cows out of the field that has wild onions. He knew that what ever the cow drank, her milk would contain it.

I'm breastfeeding, and I drink a cup of caffinated coffee every morning. It doesn't seem to upset my baby. Everything in moderation!

Normally, that's what the doctor wants you to do--avoid caffeine. You can call your pediatrician and ask.
